Dr. Marcus Deveso is a lifelong educator with nearly 30 years of experience in fostering inclusive, equitable educational environments. Holding a Master's in Program Evaluation from Western Governors University and a Doctorate in Learning and Teaching in Social Contexts from SUNY at Buffalo, Dr. Deveso is deeply committed to creating spaces where all students and educators feel a sense of belonging and can thrive.
With a wealth of experience in educational design, curriculum development, and pedagogy, Dr. Deveso has worked with a wide range of educators to build equitable systems, practices, and policies at both the micro and macro levels of educational institutions. His expertise in creating transformative learning experiences has made him a sought-after advisor, coach, and voice in education, and he is dedicated to advancing standards of excellence across all educational spaces. A passionate advocate for educational equity, Dr. Deveso has extensive experience presenting to diverse audiences at local, regional, and national levels. His work focuses on promoting policies and practices that create more inclusive, accessible, and equitable educational environments for all.
Dr. Deveso has been recognized for his contributions to education and community service, receiving multiple awards including the Excellence in Community Engagement and Outreach Award from SUNY Buffalo, the David Kash Student Champion of the Year Award, and the Lasallian Educator of the Year Award. He has also earned the Teddi Award from Camp Good Days and Special Times for his exceptional contributions to improving the quality of life for children with cancer and their families. In addition, Dr. Deveso is a 2025 Business First IDEA Award honoree, recognizing him as a champion for diversity and inclusion within his workplace and community. He currently serves on the advisory board for the University at Buffalo Mini-Med School and the board of trustees for the KORP Foundation.
Throughout his career, Dr. Deveso has held a variety of roles, from classroom teacher to Chief Program Officer in the nonprofit sector.
